Student Leadership
School Council
The School Council plays a crucial role in giving students a voice and empowering them to actively participate in the life of our school community. Comprising representatives from Year 3 and above, the council is elected by their peers, ensuring that all students have a say in selecting their representatives.
This diverse group of students is guided to brainstorm, propose, and implement ideas that can enhance the overall happiness and well-being of their fellow students. They meet regularly to discuss important issues, share feedback from their classmates, and collaborate on initiatives that promote a positive school environment.
The School Council serves as a vital channel for communication between students and school leadership, allowing the student body to contribute meaningfully to decisions that affect their education and daily school life. Whether it's organising school events, suggesting improvements to school policies, or advocating for new resources, the council members are dedicated to making a real difference.
Through their involvement, students develop essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, and communication. They learn to articulate their thoughts, listen to others, and work collaboratively to find solutions. This experience not only fosters a sense of responsibility but also cultivates confidence and a deeper understanding of democratic processes.
At BESA, we believe that every student has the potential to contribute to our school's success. The School Council is an integral part of our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every voice matters. We celebrate the efforts of our council members and encourage all students to engage with their representatives, sharing their ideas and concerns, and becoming active participants in shaping their school experience.
Head Students
Every year there is a vote amongst the student and staff body to elect new Head and Assistant Head Students.
These students support the school in a number of ways, including representing the school at events and through liaising with the leadership team on important school developments.
